Unveiling the Neolithic: Türkiye Hosts Groundbreaking Global Congress
From 4th -8th November , 2024, the Southeastern Anatolian city of Şanlıurfa, home to the globally significant Neolithic sites of Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe, will host the World Neolithic Congress, the first of its kind. Organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), this pioneering event will bring together approximately 1,000 scholars from 64 countries and 487 institutions to advance research and understanding of Neolithic cultures worldwide.

Mirai study reveals Google has lost 1 percentage point of market share in direct hotel bookings
Mirai, the provider of technology and operations support to help hotels sell in the direct channel, has today unveiled new findings on the impact of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) on the direct sale of hotel reservations within the European Union (EU) when compared with non-EU markets. Mirai’s latest analysis reveals that the DMA has led to Google suffering an overall 1% decline in its market share of all direct hotel bookings within the EU, marking a significant shift in how users interact with hotels via Google platforms.

Barrel of Single Malt Whisked Off to Mature on World Cruise Now Available on Fred. Olsen Cruises
A barrel of single malt that sailed the high seas on board Borealis for 103 nights as part of the maturing process has now been bottled ready for guests. Earlier this year, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines teamed up with Suffolk-based brewer and distiller Adnams to host a nine-year-old cask that was in its final year of maturation. The cask embarked on a cruise around the world where the movement of the ocean helped the limited-edition spirit, Amplitude, reach optimal flavour by churning the whisky, increasing its interaction with the wood of the barrel. It has now been decanted and hand-bottled and can be purchased on board Fred. Olsen’s fleet of smaller-sized ships.
