Hundreds stranded on Koh Samui
Hundreds of tourists are stranded on the popular Thai resort island of Koh Samui following a torrential downpour. Flights from the island have been suspended indefinitely, with a number of British tourists among those affected.
Thailand remains safe despite regional turmoil
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has announced that even with the situation in the Asia Pacific, travellers can be confident the country is still a safe and welcoming tourist destination. The announcement comes as Japan continues to battle the fallout from an earthquake and subsequent tsunami which rocked the country earlier this month.
InterContinental brings luxury to Koh Samui
InterContinental Hotels Group has signed up to launch a luxury resort in Koh Samui, Thailand. In a partnership with Thai company Elite Villa, InterContinental will take over the management of the existing Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa, the island’s first luxury resort, and convert it into an IHG property.
