Emirates launches new flights to Phuket, Thailand
Emirates will operates four new weekly flights between Dubai and Phuket from December 1st, 2015. Adding a capacity increase of 57 per cent the four new flights will introduce connectivity from most cities in the Americas for the first time as well as improve connections to a number of destinations in Europe and the Middle East where Emirates currently flies from more than 50 cities.
At least 20 feared dead following Bangkok bomb
At least 20 people are now known to have died following the bombing of a shrine in Thai capital Bangkok. Thai prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha branded the incident the “worst ever attack” on the country, but gave no details as to who might be responsible. The bomb targeted the Erawan Hindu shrine, a major tourist attraction, at 19:00 local time yesterday evening.

Etihad inks Thai tourism deal at Expo Milano
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and The Tourism Authority of Thailand have signed a landmark US$1.25 million agreement to increase tourism to Thailand. Under the new agreement, the Abu Dhabi-based airline and TAT will jointly promote travel to Thailand from priority markets including the United Arab Emirates, UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Iran and Kuwait.

Thai government to build third runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok
The ongoing political deadlock in Thailand will not halt the redevelopment of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok it was confirmed earlier, with plans to build a third runway to proceed. The £1.1 billion aviation project will also see three provincial airports added across the country.
British tourists found dead in Thailand
The bodies of two British tourists have been found dead on a beach in southern Thailand. Both are believed to have serious head wounds, with police beginning an investigation into the incident. The victims were found on the island of Koh Tao.
Qatar Airways launches direct flights to Phuket, Thailand
Qatar Airways will boost services to Thailand with the introduction of non-stop flights to Phuket, effective October 26th, 2014. The airline currently serves the Doha – Phuket route daily via a linked service through the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
