Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scoot, both part of the SIA Group portfolio, have set a target to replace 5% of their total fuel requirements with sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) by 2030. SAF has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel, aligning with the SIA Group’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Southwest Airlines Partners with USA BioEnergy for 680 Million Gallons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Southwest Airlines has entered into a significant offtake agreement with USA BioEnergy for up to 680 million gallons of neat sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Over a 20-year term, once blended with conventional jet fuel, this SAF could yield the equivalent of 2.59 billion gallons of net-zero fuel, resulting in a reduction of 30 million metric tons of CO2 emissions.
