O’Toole calls on government to unlock spare airport capacity in UK
London Stansted’s new chief executive, Ken O’Toole, has called on the government to put in place a national aviation strategy that not only supports airports to grow but ensures the spare capacity available today is used to generate the biggest positive impact for consumers and the economy.

Manchester Airports Group is announcing changes to its executive committee, which will result in new chief executive taking charge at Manchester and London Stansted airports. Ken O’Toole will take up the role of chief executive at London Stansted Airport, while Andrew Cowan will replace him as chief executive at Manchester Airport.
Primera Air set to launch direct US flights from London Stansted
Primera Air is to open a new base at London Stansted and start direct flights to New York and Boston Logan next year. From April 2018, the airline will offer daily services to New York’s Newark Airport and four a week to Boston Logan Airport from May.

London Stansted made a flying start to 2017 by recording its busiest ever January. During the month, over 1.74 million passengers passed through Stansted, an increase of five per cent over January last year and surpassing the previous record of 1.66 million passengers also set in January 2016.
