Euro 2016: FCO launches travel tips for Euro 2016 football fans

With three home nation teams taking part in Euro 2016 next summer, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office is launching ‘Be on the Ball’, a campaign providing advice and information to British football fans. With hundreds of thousands of supporters expected to travel to France to cheer on their team and enjoy the atmosphere, the FCO is encouraging all fans to plan ahead to enjoy a safe and stress-free tournament.

Euro 2016: Ryanair launches dedicated Euro 2016 services

Ryanair has launched England Euro 2016 return specials from London and Manchester for England’s Group B games against Russia (in Marseille) and Wales (in Lens), following huge demand from England fans. The low-cost Irish carrier has scheduled three extra flights in total, including an extra London Stansted flight to Marseille for England v Russia (June 11th), and from Manchester to Brussels Charleroi for England v Wales (June 16th), in nearby Lens.

Visits from New Zealand to the UK increased by 52 per cent to more than 40,000 with the Kiwis spending more than £63 million during this period, more than twice as much as in 2014.

The selection of Los Angeles follows a highly competitive process of which Los Angeles’ bid was led by Casey Wasserman, chairman and chief executive officer of Wasserman, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission and Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, comprising the Los Angeles Super Bowl Bid Committee.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has entered into a franchise agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to open a new Aloft hotel in the popular southern England coastal city. The 150-room Aloft Brighton, which is due to open in September 2017, will expand the brand’s growing footprint to four hotels in the UK, including two in London (Aloft London Tobacco Dock opens 2018), one in Liverpool and now one in Brighton.
