STR reveals positive impact of NFL on American hospitality
The National Football League has generated an average impact of US$75 million on hotel room revenue during the past eight seasons, according to a study by STR’s consulting and analytics division. In 2015, the NFL had a net impact of US$77 million on hotel room revenue. For the purposes of its analysis, STR matched every NFL game since 2008 with its respective home city to determine the impact on local hotels.

The multiple-award winning carrier was named Official International Airline Partner earlier at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, home of the Sydney Swans. Qatar Airways chief executive, Akbar Al Baker said: “Qatar Airways has long supported some of the best sports clubs and events in the world.”

Marriott International extends NBA partnership
Marriott International and the National Basketball Association have announced a partnership extension that will make the global hotel company a partner of several league events, including NBA House Rio, NBA All-Star, and select NBA Global Games. Borussia Dortmund takes off in new team Airbus
Borussia Dortmund took off for the first time earlier on board their new team Airbus. The players of the eight-time German champions travelled – from Dortmund via Salzburg – to their first pre-season training camp on the Eurowings Airbus A320 painted in the club colours of black and yellow. Having their “own” aircraft went down well with the players who were waved off at Dortmund airport in the direction of the Kitzbühl Alps by Eurowings chief executives Oliver Wagner and Michael Knitter.
