British Airways connects Glasgow with Salzburg for first time
Scots seeking somewhere to slope off for a skiing holiday or to enjoy the sound of music will hit the right note when British Airways launches a new direct winter service to Salzburg from Glasgow. Tickets for the weekly service linking Scotland with Austria with the first flight taking off in the winter season on December 12th, 2015.
Park City launches new branding following Canyons merger
The Park City and Canyons ski brands into one have been combined under the name Park City. The new entity has a new logo, combining the Canyons insignia with the Park City colour palette, and the will trade under the tag line “There is only one. Park City.” “We are honoured to have the community’s support as we unveil the new Park City brand,” said Park City chief operating officer, Bill Rock.
Norwegian launches range of winter ski deals from UK
Low-cost airline Norwegian has signed a new deal that will provide more destinations for UK thrill seekers hoping to hit the ski slopes this winter. The fast-growing airline has signed new agreements with three renowned tour operators in the UK - Nielson Travel, Balkan Holidays and Skiworld. Norwegian will provide charter flights from London Gatwick using aircraft equipped with free Wi-Fi for UK travellers to take advantage of top ski destinations in France, Spain and Bulgaria during the winter season.
Vail Resorts signs The Lifestyle Agency for UK promotion
Vail Resorts has signed up with UK PR and marketing specialists The Lifestyle Agency. The appointment will see the UK-based agency strengthen Vail Resorts presence and awareness within the UK, connecting them with journalists, local partners, and media. The Lifestyle Agency have been given the task of showcasing Vail Resorts portfolio of nine world-class mountain resorts in the United States and Australia, and two urban ski areas.

The all-important 16 week voting window of the 2015 World Ski Awards - the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in the global ski tourism industry - is about to reach the halfway stage. Voting will close on the September 25th and with voting numbers across all the international categories already at record levels, the final months of voting will very much determine which destinations, hotels, chalets and ski companies will win the coveted 2015 World Ski Awards – the highest accolades in ski tourism.

Paris takes victory Super-G in Kitzbühel
Dominik Paris took a risky line on the Streif – and was rewarded with victory. He was the fastest to master the challenging course, with a time of 1:09.99. Matthias Mayer from the Austrian province of Carinthia was pipped to the post by a whisker (+0.06) and third place was also taken by an Austrian.
Team Tirol takes Hahnenkamm title in Kitzbühel
Team Tirol was able to secure victory at the Hahnenkamm Juniors 2015 and relegate the teams from the United States and Croatia into second and third position respectively. The racers from Tirol achieved the best time as a team in the Giant Slalom and Slalom on the Ganslernhang. Both races were very challenging, due to the steep terrain and many transitions on the slope.
