Tignes Opens for a New Ski Season on 22 November 2025
Tignes is among the first to launch the new ski season on Saturday 22 November and over the following 163 consecutive days skiers can enjoy 300 km of slopes in one of the highest resorts in the French Alps and home to the Grande Motte glacier at 3,656 metres First Runs of the Season Snow is expected this coming week promising good conditions for the first turns of the season. The lifts open at 9am at the Perce-Neige funicular in Val Claret, giving skiers and boarders their first chance to carve fresh tracks on the glacier. After the initial warm up and finding the winter ski legs, it’s worth being among the first to catch the Aiguille Percée six-seater lift which completes the upgrade of the ski lift network in the Tignes le Lac and Tignes les Brévières sectors.
UK skiers prioritise value for money and fewer crowds on the slopes

What’s New This Winter, in La Plagne, France?
This winter season sees a revival for some of La Plagne’s iconic landmarks, including the Roche de Mio gondola, the old Christina Hotel and the bobsleigh track. La Plagne is spotlighting new developments which are part of a meaningful refurbishment with huge structural renovations to significantly improve the skier’s holiday. This considers the future needs of climate and tourism change which since the resorts birth 65 years ago is more prevalent than before. The season runs from 13 December 2025 to 25 April 2026.
Vail Resorts Cuts Lift Ticket Prices in Half for Friends of Epic Pass Holders
Vail Resorts wants to make it easier for its most loyal guests to bring their friends to the slopes, in celebration of the social side of skiing and snowboarding. Today, the company announced “Epic Friend Tickets,” a new benefit for 2025/26 season-long Epic Pass Holders to share incredible savings with those they want to ski and ride with most. Passes are on sale now, and the lowest price of the Fall ends September 1.
Iglu Ski launches The Great Lift Pass Giveaway
Starting yesterday, Monday June 30th, Iglu Ski, the UK’s largest ski travel agent, launches ‘The Great Lift Pass Giveaway’. When skiers or boarders buy one lift pass for up to £450, the second lift pass is free. In total that means there’s a potential of 1 million lift passes to give away!
