Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon opens in Seychelles
Following the acclaimed launch of Six Senses Zil Pasyon last October, the hotly anticipated Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon is now open. Created by the Six Senses Architecture and Richard Hywel Evans of Studio RHE in London, the spa is completely immersed in the private island’s natural beauty of towering rocks, granitic boulders, lush jungle and the Indian Ocean.
Qatar Airways lands in Seychelles as Africa networks expands
Qatar Airways has rounded off its 2016 global route expansion with the launch of daily flights to the idyllic islands of the Seychelles – the 14th new destination on the airline’s route map this year and the third in Africa. Flight QR678 touched down at Seychelles International Airport earlier to a welcome ceremony attended by airport and government officials, together with local dignitaries.
Seguin to lead Banyan Tree Seychelles
Banyan Tree Seychelles has announced the appointment of Franck Seguin to the role of general manager. Seguin took up his new role earlier and brings with him an excellent reputation and a wealth of experience resulting from over 20 years in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Banyan Tree Seychelles, Seguin was general manager of Angsana Balaclava Mauritius, also part of the Banyan Tree Group, and he also has experience managing the Intercontinental Balaclava in Mauritius, and Hivernage & Spa in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Qatar Airways adds Seychelles to global network
Qatar Airways will provide holidaymakers with increased access to the idyllic white sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Seychelles with daily flights via Doha starting on December 12th. Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “Over recent years Qatar Airways has seen significant growth, expanding its worldwide footprint to provide more opportunities for global leisure travellers to premium destinations such as the Seychelles.”

Winners at the World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2015 have been unveiled at the Kempsinki Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare. Air Seychelles was among the biggest winners on the night, taking the titles of Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline and Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class. In front of an audience of more than 150 industry leaders from 20 countries, Maldives was recognised as Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination, while host Seychelles took the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination.
