Southampton welcomes back Royal Caribbean for summer cruise season
Independence of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas, two of Royal Caribbean International’s most activity packed ships have arrived back in Southampton this month to embark on their 2014 summer seasons for the second year running. The return of the ships underscores the company’s commitment to the UK and Southampton market, which will grow further with the arrival of the most technologically advanced ship ever, Anthem of the Seas in April 2015.
Royal Caribbean orders fourth Oasis-class ship from STX
Royal Caribbean Cruises has agreed with STX France to move forward on the order of a fourth Oasis-class ship for delivery in 2018. Royal Caribbean Cruises chairman Richard Fain and chief operating officer Adam Goldstein, along with STX France chief executive Laurent Castaing, announced the planned ship order at the keel-laying ceremony for the third Oasis-class ship at the STX shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

One year until Anthem of the Seas arrives in UK
This week marks the one year to go milestone to the launch of Royal Caribbean International’s newest and most technologically developed cruise ship ever to be based from the UK – Anthem of the Seas.
China is new home for Quantum of the Seas
Royal Caribbean International has announced its newest ship, Quantum of the Seas, will make its home port in Shanghai (Baoshan), China, bringing the company’s most innovative ship to the world’s fastest-growing cruise market. The ship will reposition to China in May 2015, following her inaugural winter season sailing out of New York Harbour to the Caribbean.
Goldstein takes leadership role with Royal Caribbean Cruises
Adam Goldstein has been named president and chief operating officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises, the company announced earlier. Goldstein, a 25-year company veteran, had spent the previous 12 years as president and chief executive of the company’s largest cruise line, Royal Caribbean International.
Explorer of the Seas to homeport in Southampton, UK
Royal Caribbean International’s Explorer of the Seas will sail its very first Europe season in summer 2015. The cruise line’s Adventure of the Seas, which was originally announced to homeport at Southampton, UK, is being exchanged for Explorer of the Seas, which will take over three- to 16-night, roundtrip itineraries from late-April through September 2015.
