Royal Caribbean names godmother of Anthem of the Seas ahead of launch
Royal Caribbean International has announced that travel agent Emma Wilby from Sunderland is to be the godmother for the world’s newest and most advanced cruise ship Anthem of the Seas. Upholding a timeless maritime tradition, Wilby will officially christen Anthem of the Seas and perform a special song for more than 1,300 invited special guests and dignitaries at the ship’s inaugural ceremony on April 20th, 2015.
Puerto Rico to welcome largest cruise ships in 2016
Next year Puerto Rico will welcome the largest cruise ships in the world, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, both from the Royal Caribbean line. The news was announced earlier by Puerto Rico Tourism Company executive director, Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, and Port Authority executive director Colberg Ingrid Rodríguez.
Royal Caribbean makes play for Chinese cruise market
Furthering its commitment to growing the China market, Royal Caribbean International today announced that its third Quantum-class ship, Ovation of the Seas, will be based in Tianjin, China. The news was announced by Royal Caribbean president Michael Bayley.Launching in April 2016, Ovation of the Seas will be the company’s fifth cruise ship based in the region.
Royal Caribbean welcomes Anthem of the Seas float out
Royal Caribbean’s latest vessel, Anthem of the Seas, has left the building shed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, for the first time. The ship will sail from Southampton from April 2015 and will offer customers game-changing ‘firsts at sea’ including a bionic bar, a skydiving experience called RipCord by iFLY and the North Star.
