Qatar Airways moves Barcelona operations to Terminal 4
Qatar Airways has announced it will move its operations at Madrid Barajas International Airport to Terminal 4 from today. The Doha-based carrier’s move from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 will allow passengers access to improved amenities, enhanced baggage facilities, as well as a wider selection of restaurants and retail shopping outlets.

Qatar Airways has outlined route expansion plans for 2012 focused on Australia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, with a raft of new destinations set to join the airline’s rapidly-growing global network. Qatar Airways celebrates new flights to Chongqing, Beijing and Hong Kong

Qatar Airways chief Al Baker nominated for IATA leadership role
Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker has been unanimously nominated to serve on the influential board of governors of the International Air Transport Association. Al Baker was given the vote of confidence by the general assembly of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation – a 27-member Arab regional aviation body – at its annual general meeting held in Abu Dhabi.
Qatar Airways continues operations to Syria despite unrest
Contrary to recent media reports, Qatar Airways has confirmed scheduled passenger flights to and from Syria are fully operational and that reports the airline has suspended services are completely unfounded. Qatar Airways has only reduced frequency from ten flights a week to seven services each week to and from Damascus due to a reduction in traffic.
Qatar Airways expands China offering with Chongqing flights
Qatar Airways has expanded operations in China with the launch of scheduled flights to Chongqing. The launch is the fifth new Chinese destination added to schedules at the airline this year and the 15th route start-up overall.
