Qantas to introduce Dreamliner on Melbourne-Los Angeles route
Passengers flying from Melbourne to Los Angeles will be the first to experience the Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner when the inaugural international service takes-off on December 15th next year. The Qantas Dreamliner will carry 236 passengers in a three-class configuration and complement the daily Airbus A380 service already flying from Melbourne to Los Angeles.
Tourism Australia joins with Qantas to welcome England fans to Ashes 2017-18
Tourism Australia and Qantas have signed on for a content-led campaign with The Guardian and Telegraph newspapers in the UK. The campaign, which will run in February and March, shares the story of why there’s nothing like attending a major sporting event in Australia and encouraging people travelling to the Ashes to enjoy experiences beyond the cricket grounds.
Qantas to fly from Perth to London non-stop from spring 2018
Qantas is set to add to its list of aviation firsts, with the national carrier confirming it will operate non-stop flights from London to Perth using the 787-9 Dreamliner. The 14,498-kilometre service will be the first regular passenger service to directly link Europe to Australia when it begins in March 2018.
Qantas launches new virtual reality app to passengers
Qantas has launched a new virtual reality app – Qantas VR - giving customers an interactive new way to discover and explore destinations before physically travelling there. Available for iPhone, Android, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive devices, the app showcases Australia’s distinctive landscape through a series of immersive videos, including never before seen aerial footage of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
Qantas redesigns business class pyjamas
Qantas has redesigned the Business class pyjamas for customers travelling on international flights, following the update of the airline’s livery and flying kangaroo logo. The cotton rich long-sleeved pyjamas have been redesigned by Qantas to feature a new raglan-style top with a seam from the underarm to the collar bone and draw-string pant in a more relaxed fit.

Qantas has unveiled what customers on-board its flagship Dreamliner 787-9 can expect when the aircraft arrives in a year’s time. The Qantas Dreamliner will seat 236 passengers across business, premium economy and economy cabins in a layout that has been designed to maximise comfort for the longer distances the 787-9 is expected to fly.

Record results at Qantas as turnaround comes to fruition
Qantas today reported an underlying profit before tax of $1.53 billion for the 12 months ended June 30th 2016 – the best result in its 95-year history. The record performance is a 57 per cent per cent improvement on financial year 2015. Qantas Domestic, Qantas International, the Jetstar Group and Qantas Loyalty all reported record results.
British & Irish Lions sign with Qantas for 2017 tour
The British & Irish Lions have announced that premium airline and Australia’s national carrier, Qantas, has renewed its partnership as the Official Airline of The Lions for the 2017 Tour to New Zealand. For the second successive tour, Qantas will fly the entire squad, coaching and management team to New Zealand in May 2017.
Jordan launches new partnership with Qantas Airways

Qantas to begin work on luxury lounge at London Heathrow
London is the location for Qantas’ next flagship global lounge, with construction on a new, dedicated facility at Heathrow Airport to begin in September 2016. The premium lounge will occupy a split-level space in Terminal 3 that will have capacity for approximately 230 people and offer views over the Heathrow airfield when it opens in early 2017.
Qantas reports strongest financial results in 95-year history
Qantas today reported an underlying profit before tax of $921 million and a statutory profit before tax of $983 million for the six months ended December 31st, 2015. The underlying result is a record first-half performance and means Qantas’ 2015 calendar-year performance was the best in its 95-year history. Every part of the Qantas Group contributed strongly to the result, with record underlying profits for Qantas Domestic, the Jetstar Group and Qantas Loyalty.
