oneworld events receives boost at IMEX America
oneworld has unveiled a series of significant upgrades to oneworld events, its one-stop, easy-to-use travel service for the conventions, conferences, exhibitions and special events markets. Key improvements include the removal of bookings fees for flight reservations made via oneworld events’ dedicated website and the availability of oneworld events flight discounts via designated travel agencies.
oneworld opens new lounge at Los Angeles’ Tom Bradley Terminal
Qantas, British Airways and Cathay Pacific have opened a new Business Lounge for passengers flying on oneworld member airlines from Los Angeles’ Tom Bradley International Terminal. Today, the new Business Lounge can accommodate 400 customers. When its final phase is completed early next year, it will seat 600.

Walsh to take up role as chairman of oneworld

SriLankan Airlines set for oneworld membership
SriLankan Airlines will become a full member of oneworld, offering the alliance’s complete range of services and benefits with effect from Thursday May 1st 2014 – as the first carrier from the Indian subcontinent to become part of any global airline alliance. The national airline of Sri Lanka received clearance to board oneworld, the world’s leading quality airline alliance, after successfully completing a thorough review of its readiness conducted by Cathay Pacific Airways, which is sponsoring its entry into the alliance, with the oneworld central team.
oneworld offers training in six languages
oneworld now offers its online training modules for travel agents in six languages, with the addition of versions on Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Japanese and Spanish alongside the established English. The oneworld Academy offers e-learning tools to enable travel agents the world over to learn all about the key aspects of the alliance.
US Airways confirmed for oneworld entry
US Airways will join oneworld with effect from March 31st 2014, following completion of its merger with alliance founding member American Airlines. All its regional affiliates, operating under the US Airways Express brand, will also transition to oneworld at the same time.
Qatar Airways joins oneworld
Qatar Airways has joined oneworld alliance, adding one of the world’s fastest growing and most highly rated airlines to the world’s fastest growing and most highly rated global airline alliance. Since them oneworld has also welcomed Brazil’s TAM Airlines, US Airways and SriLankan Airlines, completing the biggest membership expansion in oneworld’s history.
TAM Airlines to join oneworld in March 2014
TAM Airlines has confirmed it will join oneworld March 31st next year, adding the leading carrier in Brazil to the world’s leading quality global airline alliance. Confirmation of its oneworld joining date comes on the same day that LAN Colombia – which is, like TAM, a company related to LATAM Airlines Group - becomes part of oneworld, offering the alliance’s full range of services and benefits.
