Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, returns to World Travel Market (WTM) this year to celebrate the outstanding success of its London to Muscat service.

Oman Air has announced a new joint venture with Bahwan Travel Agencies, which will promote inbound tourism to Oman and outbound holidays to destinations served by the national carrier’s network. To be known as Oman Air Holidays, the Sultanate of Oman’s first ever Public/Private Partnership will result in the country’s largest travel and tourism business.

Oman Air has reported a loss of some of 78 million rials for financial 2010, as the carrier seeks to invest in its fleet. However, the national carrier of Oman saw revenue increase by 40 per cent over the period, while passenger numbers also increased 38 per cent to a total of 3.3 million.

In a special ceremony held at the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa Sultanate of Oman, Oman Air and CFM International celebrated 10 years of cooperation and together marked the achievement of 500,000 engine flight hours on the airline’s fleet of CFM56-7B engines.
