Oman Air appoints Gregorowitsch as chief executive
Oman Air has appointed Paul Gregorowitsch as its new chief executive, effective immediately. Oman Air chairman, Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali Al Balushi, hailed it as the start of a new chapter in the development, at local, regional and international levels, of the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman.

Pearce to step down at Oman Air
Oman Air has announced chief executive Wayne Pearce will step down at the end of the month after two years at the head of the airline. Airline chairman His Excellency Darwish bin Ismael bin Ali Al Balushi, confirmed the move earlier and explained: “Working with Oman Air’s board of directors, Wayne Pearce has done an excellent job of steering Oman Air through a key phase of our development.”
New leadership for Oman Air
Oman Air has announced the appointment of Rashid Al Ghailani as its chief officer, human resources. Al Ghailani takes up his post with immediate effect and reports to Oman Air chief executive, Wayne Pearce.
Gulf Air lands at Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport
Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, has launched its first flight to the new Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central, becoming the first full service carrier to commence operations to the new airport. GF578 took off from Bahrain International Airport at 09:30 landing in Al Maktoum International Airport at 11:45, carrying Gulf Air delegations and members of the media from the Middle East.
New flights to Salalah from Oman Air
To meet the demand due to the increasing volume of passengers flying to Salalah, Oman Air has added extra flights between Salalah-Muscat-Salalah. Demand to Salalah during the Khareef season, which started since June is unprecedented due to the clement weather, and the ongoing Salalah Tourism Festival is an added attraction for the visitors to the governorate of Dhofar.
Oman Air selects Trent 700 for Airbus A330s
Oman Air has placed an order for Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines to power the three Airbus A330s it currently has on order. The Trent 700 is the market leading engine for the Airbus A330, and powers Oman Air’s existing fleet of four A330-200s and three A330-300s, which have been introduced since 2009.
Rolls royce wins $200m order from Oman Air
Rolls-Royce has won an order from Oman Air, worth $200 million at list prices, to deliver Trent 700 engines to power three Airbus A330 aircraft. The order also includes long-term TotalCare service support.
Emergency landing for Oman Air flight
A Boeing B737-800 operated by Oman Air has been forced to make an unscheduled landing in Muscat after it sustained damage to its cockpit window. There are no reports of any injuries during the incident.
Oman Air and Travelport announce new seat assignment booking functionality
Travel agents booking Oman Air via Travelport’s Galileo and Worldspan distribution systems will now be able to benefit from new functionality, which allows them to manage the seat selection process in a ‘live’ and interactive environment.
