Initial evaluations show that the Lufthansa Group alone has been able to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 2,000 tonnes per month since the introduction.

Lufthansa has expanded its summer schedule for next year, with 15 new European destinations, including Greece and Spain available to book.

Lufthansa Group has removed all booking fees until the end of the year, effective immediately. The decision applies across Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines.

Lufthansa will cut 22,000 full-time jobs across its portfolio of airlines, while 100 aircraft will also permanently leave the fleet. In the first half of 2020, the group reported total losses of €2.9 billion.

German airline Lufthansa will commence two flights a day between the two global financial centres from Monday, September 7th. When combined with its subsidiaries, Lufthansa is the second largest airline in Europe in terms of passengers carried.

German flag-carrier Lufthansa has said it will shed 22,000 jobs as it downsizes its operations in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. The airline has predicted a slow recovery in demand and expected to have about 100 fewer aircraft after the crisis.
