Lufthansa plans new flight to South American powerhouse Panama
Lufthansa is further expanding its route network to South America with the airline set to offer year-round flights to Panama City for the first time from November 16th, subject to government approval. An Airbus A340-300 aircraft will fly five times a week between Frankfurt and the economic metropolis in Central America.

Lufthansa moves ahead with fleet modernisation programme with Boeing 747-8 delivery
The Lufthansa Group has continued with the modernisation of its aircraft fleet with the delivery of its 16th Boeing 747-8. The aircraft landed as scheduled at its future home airport in Frankfurt earlier. Following a nine-hour transfer flight from Seattle, the newest ‘Queen of the Skies’ joined Lufthansa’s jumbo fleet, replacing an older Boeing 747-400, which is being decommissioned.
bmi regional expands Lufthansa codeshare deal
bmi regional will commence flights from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Liege, Belgium and Bern, Switzerland to the Bavarian capital, Munich on March 29th 2015. The flights will operate the flights in partnership with Lufthansa as code-share flights with joint BM and LH flight numbers.
Lufthansa completes Germanwings repositioning as Zurich flights begin
The Lufthansa Group has made a successful start to the New Year with the transfer of the Düsseldorf–Zurich route from Lufthansa to Germanwings. The transfer of the Düsseldorf–Zurich route means that the decision to operate all domestic and European routes under Germanwings, with the exception of flights to and from the Frankfurt and Munich hubs, has now been fully implemented as scheduled.
Lufthansa to employ biokerosene mixture on Oslo flights
Starting this year the Lufthansa Group will be fuelling their aircraft at Oslo airport with a biokerosene mixture. The group recently became the first airline group to sign this kind of contract with the Norwegian oil company, Statoil Aviation. The company is thus pushing forward along the path of research, testing and use of alternative fuels that it started over four years ago.
Lufthansa relaunches flights to Miami from Munich hub
Lufthansa is resuming flights between Miami and its Munich hub, with the service operating each Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday via an Airbus A380. The flights complement Lufthansa’s existing daily A380 service from Miami to Frankfurt.
New strikes hit flights at Lufthansa
German flag-carrier has been hit by new strike action from pilots, with more than 1,350 flights cancelled today as a result. Talks between the pilots’ unions and the airline collapsed earlier, unable to reach an agreement in a row over retirement benefits.
Lufthansa to launch new route to Tampa

Lufthansa will be relocating its flight operations to the new Terminal 2: The Queen‘s Terminal at London Heathrow Airport from tomorrow. The move is the latest phase of the process to bring all Star Alliance members under one roof for the first time in Heathrow and sees Lufthansa joining United Airlines, Air Canada, Air China and ANA - the first airlines to move into the new terminal when it opened in June.

Lufthansa and Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organiation have reached an agreement on growth and the safeguarding of existing jobs on Lufthansa routes with a high proportion of leisure travellers. Lufthansa had previously announced its intention to continue operating as many as 14 A340-300 aircraft with a cabin layout optimised for leisure travel.
