Since the beginning of the year, 432,000 travelers have chosen to use Lufthansa Express Rail to and from Frankfurt Airport. This means that the previous year’s result was exceeded by 28 percent in October 2024. By the end of the year, a total of more than 500,000 bookings have been confirmed. Never before in the more than 20-year cooperation between Lufthansa and Deutsche Bahn (DB) have so many travelers opted for the joint offer as in 2024.

The Lufthansa Group has been awarded the prize for the world’s best airline app 2024 at the World Aviation Festival (WAF). The Lufthansa Group app was previously evaluated by customers and nominated for the final round. A jury of experts compared the four nominees in a competition, the “Battle of the Airline Apps”, and rated the Lufthansa Group app as the best among the biggest players in the industry. The Lufthansa product came out on top against the apps from Emirates, Qatar Airways and Air India.

In December 2023, LATAM had its first Boeing 777-300ER fitted with the bionic surface film in São Paulo, becoming the first airline outside the Lufthansa Group and in the Americas region to adopt this innovative CO₂-saving solution. Since then, the Latin American airline has been testing the sharkskin technology in daily operations. Given the proven results, LATAM has now decided to install the innovative film on four additional aircraft. Five AeroSHARK-modified aircraft operated by the subsidiary LATAM Airlines Brazil will soon be cruising the skies.

Deutsche Sport Marketing, which markets the rights for the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS), and Lufthansa Airlines are extending their partnership up to and including 2026. The German airline will therefore remain the official airline of Team Deutschland and Team Deutschland Paralympics. The DOSB and Lufthansa have been cooperating since 2005 and the partnership with the DBS since 2009.

Europe is in soccer fever and Lufthansa is bringing soccer fans to Germany: From June 14 to July 14, the airlines of Lufthansa Group are recording around 200,000 additional bookings for flights to the venues of the European Football Championship. Numerous additional flights are being added, especially to and from Great Britain.

Yesterday, Lufthansa brought its beloved Airbus A380, for the very first time, to Washington Dulles International Airport. With its debut in the nation’s capital, Lufthansa’s A380 sharply increases its capacity this summer season to this region with one of the world’s most technologically advanced and largest aircraft.
