LATAM Airlines group cuts costs to see slight increase in profits
LATAM Airlines Group, the leading airline group in Latin America, announced its final financial results for the last quarter which ended on June 30th. The second half of 2015 marks three years since the merger between LAN and TAM, a historical landmark for both airlines to place the company as an industry leader in South America. Due to significant successes throughout the year such as cost savings, negotiations on the Passenger Service System, and the unveiling of the company’s new unified brand, LATAM continues to progress towards its main objective: to strengthen LATAM’s position as the leading airline in Latin America.
LATAM Airlines sees traffic increase in South America
LATAM Airlines Group and its subsidiaries, the leading airline group in Latin America, has reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for July 2015 compared to July 2014. System passenger traffic increased by 6.7 per cent while capacity increased by 7.6 per cent. As a result, the company’s load factor for the month decreased 0.8 points to 84 per cent.
LATAM Airlines Group brand to replace LAN and TAM in South America
After an extensive integration process following the association of LAN Airlines and TAM Airline, LATAM Airlines Group has decided to adopt a single name and identity and confirmed the new brand for the largest airline group in Latin America and its affiliates. The new LATAM branded airline group will unite all the passenger and cargo airlines for LATAM Airlines Group.
LATAM Airlines to launch new Milan connections
To strengthen connectivity with its international markets, LATAM Airlines Group has begun selling tickets for its Santiago–São Paulo–Milan service to be operated by LAN using its modern fleet of Boeing 787s. Tickets are available for purchase through all LAN and TAM sales channels.
TAM reveals first A350 XWB destinations
TAM Airlines, the first airline to receive and operate the A350 XWB in the Americas, has announced the routes that will be operated by the aircraft. The A350 XWB is expected to arrive in Brazil in December of this year with the first commercial flight scheduled for January 2016 from São Paulo/Guarulhos to Manaus.

System passenger traffic increased by 1.9 per cent while capacity increased by 2.3 per cent. As a result, the company’s load factor for the month decreased 0.4 points to 81.5 per cent.
Revenue up but losses continue at LATM Airlines
LATAM Airlines Group has reported strong operating results for first quarter 2015, with operating income reaching US$227 million, 102 per cent higher than the US$113 million reported in first quarter 2014. Operating margin reached 8.1 per cent at the South American group, compared to 3.5 per cent in the same period 2014. The significant margin expansion during the first quarter 2015 was mainly driven by a 16 per cent reduction in the company’s operating costs.

TAM Airlines unveils plans for Barcelona-Sao Paulo route
In line with its strategy to reinforce connectivity across its international markets, TAM Airlines, part of LATAM Airlines Group, has launched a new route that connects Spain with Brazil. From October 1st, TAM will operate a new direct flight between Barcelona and Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport. Tickets are available to buy on the LAN and TAM websites from today.
LATAM launches online training programme to agents
LATAM Airlines Group has launched its updated online agent training programme in conjunction with OTT. The programme provides agents with up to date information about both LAN and TAM Airlines, as well as the latest updates on LATAM Airlines Group as a whole. The programme features revised modules on the Group’s network, which is the largest in South America, as well as new information on LAN and TAM’s cabins and services and a detailed introduction to the group’s UK-based sales team.
New European leadership for LATAM Airlines Group
LATAM Airlines Group, the leading airline Group in South America, has appointed Gonzalo Salinas Pereira as its new European airport manager. The 34 year old Chilean-born studied commercial aviation engineering at the Federico Santa Maria Technical University in Chile and has spent his whole working career within LATAM Airlines Group.
