Amadeus signs LATAM for global distribution deal
Amadeus has reached an agreement with LATAM Airlines Group for global distribution services. Opening new routes and reaching partnership deals with other fellow carriers is a big part of a network expansion strategy, but it is just as crucial to ensure that new content is made available to the widest possible customer base. With the full content agreement in place, travel agencies subscribed to the Amadeus system will have access to all of LATAM’s flights and other services.
LATAM Airlines group sees passenger traffic increase for 2015
LATAM Airlines Group had reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for January 2016 compared to January 2015. System passenger traffic increased by 1.9 per cent while capacity increased by two per cent. As a result, the company’s load factor for the month decreased 0.1 points to 85.6 per cent.
LAN Airlines launches Santiago-Los Angeles ticket sales
LAN Airlines has launched ticket sales for its non-stop service between Los Angeles and Santiago, which will operate three times per week between October 16th, 2016 and March 25th, 2017. LAN’s nonstop Los Angeles-Santiago route will depart from Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from Santiago on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

International Airlines Group has signed a joint business agreement between British Airways, Iberia and LATAM Airlines Group on flights between Europe and South America. The joint business would benefit customers by providing better links between Europe and South America, greater choice of flights and enhanced frequent flyer benefits.

LATAM Airlines group welcomes A350 XWB to South America
LATAM Airlines Group, made up of LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines, has taken delivery of its first A350 XWB in Toulouse, France. In doing so, TAM will become the first airline in the Americas to operate the all-new airliner and the fourth worldwide. TAM’s aircraft is configured in a premium two-class layout, with 348 seats, comprising of 30 Premium Business Class and 318 Economy.
LATAM rolls out tablets to pilots fleet wide
LAN and TAM are the first South American airline companies to develop and provide their pilots and cabin crew members tablets equipped with applications geared to facilitate, optimise and improve the information management process for flight operations and service on-board. Both airlines are members of LATAM Airlines Group.
LATAM overhauls long-haul schedule for 2016
As part of its strategy to offer the best network of connections to, from and within Latin America, LATAM Airlines Group announces plans to launch six new international routes by the end of 2016. These new destinations will strengthen the Group’s connectivity in Latin America, North America, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa. Some of these new routes include LAN Peru’s first ever nonstop flight between Washington DC and Lima.
New sales leadership for LATAM in United Kingdom
LATAM, the leading airline group in Latin America and operator of the LAN and TAM Airlines, has appointed Guido Blanco as the new sales manager for UK and Nordic countries. Blanco started his role in September and previously held the position of sales manager for LATAM in Buenos Aires.

System passenger traffic increased by 6.7 per cent while capacity increased by 7.6 per cent. As a result, the company’s load factor for the month decreased 0.8 points to 84 per cent.

After an extensive integration process following the association of LAN Airlines and TAM Airline, LATAM Airlines Group has decided to adopt a single name and identity and confirmed the new brand for the largest airline group in Latin America and its affiliates. The new LATAM branded airline group will unite all the passenger and cargo airlines for LATAM Airlines Group.
