LATAM Airlines Group today celebrated 20 years since it began trading its shares on the New York Stock Exchange. The company’s chairman, Ignacio Cueto, led proceedings by ringing the NYSE’s closing bell to mark the end of the day’s trading.

LATAM reports strong increase in revenue for first quarter
LATAM Airlines Group has announced total operating revenues increased by 6.4 per cent to $2,477 million for the three months ending March 31st. The increase is largely thanks to proactive capacity management, stronger local currencies (especially in Brazil), and a 7.6 per cent increase in passenger revenues.

LATAM Airlines Peru has operated its first non-stop flight between Lima, Peru and Barcelona, Spain, marking the start of three weekly services between the two cities. “With this new flight – the 11th international service that LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates have launched this year – we continue to strengthen our network and improve connectivity between Latin America and Europe,” said Roberto Alvo, senior vice president of international and alliances, LATAM Airlines Group.
