Riviera Hotel implosion set for June 14th in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority has announced the official date for the implosion of the Monaco Tower on the LVCVA-owned Riviera Hotel and Casino site. The historic moment will take place at approximately 02:00 on the morning of Tuesday, June 14th.
MGM Resorts to bring The Park to Las Vegas in April
MGM Resorts International will debut its dynamic park, dining and entertainment district on the Las Vegas Strip April 4th, 2016. An eclectic blend of restaurants, bars and entertainment tucked into rich desert landscaping, The Park will become a central gathering place on The Strip’s west side connecting New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts as well as the new 20,000-seat world-class T-Mobile Arena.
Record visitor numbers for Las Vegas in 2015
Las Vegas continued its historic visitation growth, setting another new record by surpassing 42 million visitors for the first time. This breaks last year’s record of 41.1 million, which was the first time the destination had ever topped 40 million. “Las Vegas couldn’t have reached this achievement without the support of our resort partners and the dedicated workers who make the Las Vegas experience what it is,” said Rossi Ralenkotter, president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
SpeedVegas set for launch in spring 2016
SpeedVegas will start its engines come March 2016, when the 1.5-mile supercar track at Las Vegas’ newest and most thrilling attraction opens for business. By May 2016, the entire $30 million motorsports complex—including a multilevel welcome centre, event centre with a capacity of up to 1,000 guests, café and much more—will be complete.
Swarovski Midnight Celebration opens on Las Vegas strip
The Las Vegas Strip has welcomed its newest outdoor entertainment spectacle: the Swarovski Midnight Celebration at Grand Bazaar Shops. Created for Swarovski’s custom pavilion and six-story-tall Starburst, the Swarovski Midnight Celebration was designed to be the centrepiece of the new Grand Bazaar Shops, providing a unique retail and entertainment experience.
Omnia Nightclub set for Vegas debut at Caesars Palace
Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace is set to open its doors Thursday, March 12th with a debut set from resident DJ Calvin Harris. On its opening, the Hakkasan Group’s newest venture will herald in a new generation of clubbers, experience seekers and explorers of luxury. The highly anticipated opening weekend will also welcome DJ sensations and 2015 residents Martin Garrix and Chuckie, followed by kick-off events taking place throughout March and April bringing the best in electronic music.
Mariah Carey reveals Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum
Mariah Carey, the best-selling female artist of all time with over 200 million records sold, is coming to Las Vegas with a headlining residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. For the first time ever, she will perform all 18 of her timeless number one hits together in one concert. The residency will launch May 6th 2015, with tickets to the first 18 performances in 2015 now on sale.
