The economic situation in the United States and Canada is improving and with it has come a renewed increase in foreign trips in 2014. People in North America travelled more often than last year and stayed longer at their destinations, with stays of more than four overnights increasing by eight per cent.

ITB Berlin 2015: Largest Hampton by Hilton to open in Berlin
As the tourism industry descends on Germany for ITB Berlin, Hilton Worldwide today announced that it has signed an agreement to open its largest Hampton by Hilton hotel to date, in the centre of the city. With 344 guest rooms and a prime city centre location, Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is slated to open in early 2018. The hotel is being developed under a franchise agreement with Interstar Hotel, which owns and operates a number of hotels across Germany.
ITB Berlin 2015: Maldives signs as ITB Berlin partner for 2016
In 2016 the focus at ITB Berlin will be on the Maldives, the show’s partner country in the Indian Ocean. Head of ITB Berlin, David Ruetz, confirmed an agreement between the trade show and the Maldives would be signed at a ceremony at the upcoming ITB in Berlin next March. “As a year-round holiday destination the Maldives has become firmly established among tourists the world over,” said Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, minister of tourism, Maldives.
ITB Berlin 2015: ITB offers strong marketplace in turbulent times at show prepares to open
The 2015 edition of ITB Berlin is booked up and once again exhibitor numbers are high. From tomorrow, a display area covering 26 halls, 10,096 exhibitors from 186 countries will be offering visitors a representative overview of travel products and services from around the world and of growth-intensive niche markets. More than two-thirds of the exhibitors showcasing their products and services in the 26 halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds are from abroad.
