Iberia moves to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow
The merger of Iberia and British Airways continues to deliver new advantages to the customers of both airlines, with the Spanish flag-carrier set to move to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow. Iberia passengers will depart and arrive at the new facility from March 25th.
Iberia boosts services to San Jose, Costa Rica
Spanish flag-carrier Iberia has announced plans to increase its capacity on flights between Madrid and San Jose in Costa Rica by 5.5 per cent, to offer a total of 234,000 seats this year. The carrier – part of International Airlines Group - will use A340-600 aircraft, which have an extra 100 seats each.

International Airlines Group sees traffic surge
International Airlines Group saw traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres increase by 12.2 per cent in December 2011 when compared to the previous year. Iberia and Repsol today staged Spain’s first commercial flight powered by biofuel. An Iberia Airbus A320 flying from Madrid to Barcelona burned some 2,600 kg of a mixture of conventional A-1 jet fuel and biofuel derived from the camelina sativa plant. The use of the mixture resulted in a reduction of nearly 1,500 kg of C02 emissions.
