The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has concluded an agreement with the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the establishment of its Gulf Area office in Abu Dhabi, effective 1 June.

IATA moves forward on New Distribution Capability
The International Air Transport Association has marked a major milestone in its New Distribution Capability initiative with the assignment by Airline Tariff Publishing Company of its Open AXIS license to IATA. IATA records further increases in passenger demand
Officials at the International Air Transport Association have released global passenger traffic results for March showing strong demand growth led by emerging markets with all regions showing gains. Total traffic rose 5.9 per cent compared to March 2012.
IATA reports fall in global freight volumes
The International Air Transport Association has released figures showing air freight markets weakened in March, and that the improvement in air cargo growth rates that began towards the end of 2012 has stalled. Global Freight Tonne Kilometers were down 2.3 per cent in March compared to March 2012, with only the Middle East and Africa showing an expansion.
