Gatwick Airport achieved an impressive three million passengers travelling through the airport this February, up 9.9 per cent on 2016. Long-haul routes continue their booming growth at Gatwick, up 20.3 per cent on February 2016 and driving a up six per cent cargo increase.

Gatwick Airport is advising British Airways, easyJet, and Virgin Atlantic passengers to check through which terminal they will be travelling, as it prepares to relocate these major airlines. British Airways will move to the South Terminal, Virgin Atlantic will move to the North Terminal, and easyJet - which currently operates out of both terminals - will consolidate its operation in the North Terminal.

Tim Norwood – the man who secured planning consent for Hinkley Point C, the UK’s first new nuclear power station for a generation - is to become Gatwick’s new chief planning officer. He will join Gatwick’s executive management board at the end of February and will lead a review of Gatwick’s masterplan.
Gatwick Airport welcomes record 43m passengers in 2016
Gatwick welcomed 43 million passengers in 2016, cementing its position as the world’s most efficient single runway airport. This new annual record came on December 22nd last year, a month in which the airport achieved 3.1 million passengers, up 15 per cent on December last year.

Cathay Pacific expands UK connections for summer 2017
On the back of strengthening demand for flights connecting Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, Cathay Pacific has announced that its current four-times-weekly service to Gatwick will become a daily operation from June 2017. In a further boost to the airline’s UK connectivity, Manchester will see the addition of a fifth weekly flight and become an all Airbus A350-900 operation in June.

In the 12 months to November, Gatwick Airport served 2.7 million more passengers than it did in the 12 months running up to November 2015. Meanwhile, Gatwick is delighted to announce further new connections to Asia responding to the demand for the airport’s existing connections to Hong Kong.
