Etihad Airways launches new Düsseldorf route
Etihad Airways has launched non-stop flights from its home base in Abu Dhabi to Düsseldorf, Germany. Flight EY 23 touched down on schedule at the North Rhine Westphalia earlier, greeted by a traditional water cannon salute on arrival.

Etihad links with Hainan Airlines to boost China offering
Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Hainan Airlines, the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s first codeshare with a Chinese carrier and its 35th with world airlines. Subject to regulatory approvals, from January 10th 2012, Hainan Airline’s will place its ‘HU’ code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and the airline’s three gateway cities in China: Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.
Etihad becomes world’s largest 787-9 Dreamliner customer
Etihad Airways, voted “World’s Leading Airline” by World Travel Awards, has become the world’s largest customer of Boeing’s 787-9 Dreamliner by placing an order for a further 10 of the revolutionary aircraft. Following the $2.8 billion order, the UAE flag carrier now has a total of 41 Dreamliner’s on order.
Etihad launches environmental best practice flights
Etihad Airways has successfully reduced carbon emissions by a combined total of nine tonnes on two flights from Australia to Abu Dhabi. The savings were made as a result of cooperation between Etihad Airways and various air traffic control centres on the ground that enabled the aircraft, two Airbus A340s, to fly routes that took advantage of prevailing jet streams.
Etihad Airways celebrates three years of service to Moscow
United Arab Emirates flag-carrier Etihad Airways is celebrating three years of its non-stop service between Abu Dhabi and Moscow. The airline commenced operations to the Russian capital in December 2008 and since then has carried almost 200,000 travellers on the route.

AACO 2011: Etihad to outsource accounting to Kale Consultants
Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has announced it will outsource the accounting of passenger and cargo revenues to aviation accountancy specialist Kale Consultants from April, 2012. The deal was confirmed during the Arab Air Carriers Organisation annual general meeting currently taking place in Abu Dhabi.
