The International Air Transport Association Training & Development Institute and Etihad Airways, considered the World’s Leading Airline by the prestigious World Travel Awards, have announced a training partnership during the proceedings of the IATA-AACO Aeropolitical Affairs Forum in Abu Dhabi in a joint effort to develop the human capital of the aviation industry in the region.

Etihad Airways has operated its maiden flight from Abu Dhabi to Tripoli, the airline’s first new destination of 2012. The service, which will operate three times a week, is the only direct commercial flight between the UAE and Libya’s capital city.

Etihad Crystal Cargo – the cargo division of award-winning Etihad Airways – is preparing to launch a second weekly dedicated freighter operation between Abu Dhabi and Almaty in Kazakhstan. The additional freighter service will commence January 8th 2012, using an Airbus A330-200F freighter with a payload of 59 metric tonnes.
