Etihad Airways breaks United States with new sports sponsorship deal
Etihad Airways is the new official airline sponsor of Events DC’s Nation’s Triathlon, marking the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s first entry into sports sponsorship in the US capital. The deal will see the airline support the Nation’s Triathlon through flight provision for athletes and other promotional activities, as well as forging a partnership between the Nations’s Triathlon in Washington DC and the Tri Yas Triathlon in Abu Dhabi.
Etihad launches South African Airways codeshare
Etihad Airways has commenced codeshare services with South African Airways following regulatory approval, which enables both carriers to offer codeshare and interline services to key destinations on each others’ route networks. Effective immediately, and under the first phase of the codeshare agreement, Etihad Airways passengers can now travel on Etihad Airways’ marketed flights from Johannesburg to four major destinations on the SAA network including: Cape Town, Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth.
Record results for Etihad Airways as alliance strategy pays dividends
Etihad Airways today announced its strongest second quarter and half-year financial performances on record, reflecting continued solid growth in its airline alliance strategy and global cargo operations. The national carrier of the United Arab Emirates achieved an eight per cent increase in quarter two 2013 passenger revenues, generating US $921 million, while passenger revenues for the first half of 2013 reached US $1.8 billion, up by 13 per cent.

Etihad expands capacity on Abu Dhabi- Kuala Lumpur flights
Etihad Airways has confirmed it will add a new daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur to offer a double daily service from July 15th, 2013. The new schedule will add 1,400 new seats per week to the route - an increase in capacity of approximately 23 per cent.

Etihad Airways’ maiden flight to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, has landed on schedule at the city’s Nikola Tesla Airport. The Airbus A319 aircraft, flight EY71 from Abu Dhabi, touched down at 12.15pm and was welcomed with the traditional water cannon salute from airport fire engines.

The national airline of the United Arab Emirates launched the Wi-Fi and GSM-enabled Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on June 1st, increasing capacity on the New York route by 36.6 per cent.
Air Seychelles extends codeshares deal with Etihad
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has extended its codeshare agreement with equity alliance partner Etihad Airways to include new connections to Australia. The new codeshare flights, on sale now, offer seamless connections to Seychelles from Melbourne and Sydney, operated via Abu Dhabi.
