Hogan to step down as Etihad chief later this year
Etihad Aviation Group has announced that James Hogan will step down as president and chief executive of the company in the second half of 2017. The Etihad board and Hogan first initiated the transition process last year with the formation in May of the Etihad Aviation Group, a diversified global aviation and travel organisation.
Etihad Airways goes double daily to Düsseldorf
Etihad Airways has confirmed its Abu Dhabi–Düsseldorf route will be operated 14 times a week with the addition of a new daily service, effective March 26th. The double daily schedule will provide greater choice to local passengers travelling between Abu Dhabi and Düsseldorf, and further increase connectivity to and from Germany over the airline’s Abu Dhabi hub.
Etihad Airways to boost frequency on Malé route
Etihad Airways today announced four additional weekly flights on the popular Abu Dhabi–Malé route. The move will increase frequency to the idyllic Maldives to 11 services a week between July 1st and September 17th this year.

Etihad Airways signs codeshare deal with Montenegro Airlines
Etihad Airways and Montenegro Airlines, the flag carrier of the Republic of Montenegro, have signed a codeshare agreement that provides travellers with enhanced connectivity when flying between south-east Europe and the Middle East. The agreement will see Etihad Airways placing its “EY” code on Montenegro Airlines’ flights between Belgrade and two destinations in Montenegro – its capital Podgorica and the attractive town of Tivat on the Adriatic coast.
Etihad signs codeshare deal with Precision Air to expand Tanzania presence
In a move that extends its reach across East Africa, Etihad Airways has announced that it has entered into a codeshare agreement with Precision Air, Tanzania’s leading domestic airline. Under the new codeshare agreement, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on Precision Air flights between Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, Mtwara, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Pemba, and between Nairobi and Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.
Etihad Airways signs comprehensive partnership with Lufthansa
Etihad Airways and Lufthansa German Airlines have announced the conclusion of a codeshare agreement. The arrangement is set to start in January 2017, subject to government approval. The wet-lease agreement between Lufthansa Group and airberlin – in which Etihad Aviation Group indirectly holds a 29 per cent stake – was also announced today.
