Emirates in-flight mobile telephone celebrates 100,000 user
Keeping people connected, Emirates in-flight mobile telephone service has clocked up its 100,000th user this week, confirming a dramatic increase in calls this year. A total of 31 Emirates passenger aircraft are now installed with the AeroMobile service, the largest of any commercial airline.
Emirates unveils plans for growth
Emirates Airline has unveiled plans to grow the number of flights across its network by 14 per cent in 2009.This year, the Dubai based carrier will add 18 new passenger aircraft to its fleet, increasing seating capacity by 14 per cent and enabling it to start new routes as well as increase frequencies on many existing routes. It will also expand cargo capacity by 17 per cent.
Emirates to launch Durban service
Emirates Airlines is to launch flights to Durban from 1 October this year. The daily service will provide the only direct air link between Dubai and Durban, one of South Africa’s host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
