Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, has signed an interline agreement with leading Nigerian carrier Arik Air, making it easy for customers to access a wide range of points across Nigeria and West Africa.

Emirates to commence services to Baghdad
Emirates will commence passenger flights to Baghdad from the 13th November 2011, marking the airlines’ second destination in Iraq. Operating four times per week Baghdad will be Emirates’ fifth international destination to launch in 2011 with Basra and Geneva already operational and Copenhagen and St Petersburg to follow on 1st August and 1st November respectively.
Emirates to serve St Petersburg
Emirates is to launch flights deeper into Russia by starting services to St Petersburg, which will become the most northerly point on the airline’s network. The port city, lying on the Baltic coast and sometimes referred to as Russia’s ‘Northern Capital,’ will be served from 1st November with a daily flight from Dubai.
Emirates’ double decker lands in Rome for double celebration
An Emirates’ A380 arrived in Rome to join celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport, while marking 150 years of Italian unification. It is the first time a superjumbo has landed in Rome.

Making travel even more efficient, Emirates now offers customers the option of receiving a mobile boarding pass on their internet-enabled mobile device - providing customers with a stress-free, paperless travel experience.
Emirates launches Geneva service
Emirates has launched daily flights between Dubai and Geneva. The Geneva route is Emirates’ second gateway into Switzerland after Zurich, which started in 1992, and is now double daily. Much of the capacity out of Geneva is expected to be used by the luxury sector, one of the top employers in the Geneva region and responsible for 60 percent of its exports.
World Cup sponsors express “disappointment” in Fifa corruption allegations
A major World Cup sponsor has expressed its “disappointment” in the corruption allegations surrounding football’s governing body Fifa. Emirates Airline becomes the third sponsor to make public its worries. Earlier sponsors Coca Cola said the claims were “distressing and bad for the sport”, whilst Adidas has also voiced concerns.
Emirates opens door for further tourism and trade with Germany
Emirates is responding to strong passenger demand in Germany by launching extra frequencies to Frankfurt and upgrading one of its Munich flights to an A380 superjumbo.

Profits soar at Emirates Airline
An increase of four million passengers in a single year saw profits at Emirates Airline increase by $1.5 billion, the latest figures from the carrier reveal. Revenues at the airline grew 25 per cent when compared to the previous year, reaching $14.8 billion, the company said today.
