Emirates inks major deal with Tourism Australia
Emirates and Tourism Australia have signed a global marketing agreement in a bid to further boost visitation from key markets in Europe and New Zealand. The AUS$14.3 million arrangement will feature joint marketing on traditional and digital media platforms as well as event and sponsorship activities.
Emirates to be Partner Airline of Seychelles Carnival 2013
Emirates Airline will support the Seychelles International Carnival of Victoria for the third year running. The event will take place in the archipelago in February 2013.
Emirates appoints new UK manager
Middle eastern carrier Emirates has announced the appointment of Jon Sheppard as its new Manager, National Accounts for the UK. Mr Sheppard will lead the sales management team in London to further develop commercial strategies and initiatives to drive Emirates’ business with corporate and trade partners.
Emirates to introduce CBeebies on flights
BBC Worldwide has secured a deal with Emirates to launch CBeebies as the airline’s first-ever branded channel targeting children aged six and under. Loved by children and their carers the world over, CBeebies offers a range of high quality programmes which encourage the BBC’s youngest audiences to learn through play in a consistently safe environment.
Emirates adds two weekly flights to Seychelles
In a move to support the tourism sector of the Seychelles, Emirates, one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world, will introduce two additional flights to the archipelago in December and February, thus increasing the service to thirteen weekly flights.
Emirates to launch daily service to Algeria
Emirates will begin daily flights to Algiers from March 2013, marking the next stage of growth for the airline’s African network. An Airbus A330-200 in a three-class configuration will be deployed on the route.
Emirates launches daily service to Washington
Emirates has launched its daily non-stop service from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Dubai (DXB). Travellers from Washington Dulles will fly on a Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft.

Qantas seeks return to black with Emirates deal
Australian flag-carrier Qantas has announced a new global aviation partnership with Emirates designed to give customers a seamless Australian and international network. Under the agreement, signed this morning by Emirates president Tim Clark and Qantas Group chief executive Alan Joyce, Qantas will move its hub for European flights to Dubai and enter an extensive commercial relationship with Emirates.
Emirates air stewardess charged for drink-flying
An air stewardess has been charged after she was found to be eight times over the drink flying limit on an Emirates Boeing 777 flight from Dubai.
Emirates upgrades Manchester services
Emirates has upgraded its evening service from Manchester from a two class Boeing 777-300ER to a three class Boeing 777-300ER, with the service starting on Saturday 1st September 2012.
Emirates plans second Thailand route
Emirates is planning to launch a non-stop, daily service to Phuket from December 10th. The new Dubai - Phuket service, which will mark Emirates’ second destination in Thailand and 15th new route this year, will be operated by a three-class Airbus aircraft.
