Record numbers take to the skies for festive season
Emirates expects this week to be its busiest of 2014, as travellers head home or abroad for the holiday season. Over 80,000 people will travel each day with Emirates on over 240 flights, according to the airline’s latest booking figures. This represents an increase of almost 23 per cent over last year.
Emirates announces A380 service to Perth
Emirates will be giving travellers heading to Perth, Australia the opportunity to experience the Emirates Airbus A380 on the route for the first time, commencing May 1st 2015. The airline has announced that it will up-gauge one of its three daily services between Dubai and Perth to its flagship aircraft, demonstrating the growth of Perth as a global destination.
Emirates announces expansion of Madrid service from spring 2015
Emirates has announced plans to offer a double daily service to Barcelona, less than three years after its initial launch to the city. From May 2nd 2015 Emirates will add a further 3,724 seats per week to Barcelona increasing overall capacity by 51 per cent. The extra service will be operated by a Boeing 777-200LR in a three class configuration, complementing the airline’s already successful daily A380 service.

Emirates to fly double-daily departures to Dar es Salaam
Emirates has announced that Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s principal port and commercial city, will become a double daily operation from January 1st 2015. Emirates currently operates 12 flights a week between Dubai and Dar es Salaam and with the addition of two extra flights in January, Dar es Salaam will join Nairobi as the second destination in east Africa with a double daily service.
Emirates to launch third daily flight to Malé, Maldives
Emirates has announced a third daily service to Malé, the capital of the Maldives. Commencing Monday, December 1st, Emirates flight EK656 will depart Dubai International Airport at 02:10, and arrive in Malé at 07:15, adding seven more inbound flights a week to the Maldives, increasing passenger and cargo capacity on the route by a third.

Already the most popular travel app in 25 countries with a 4.5 star rating, The Emirates App for iPhone has enhanced features such as the ability to check-in and download their boarding pass directly to Passbook.
Starwood Hotels links with Emirates for loyalty programme
Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Emirates Airline are announcing a new partnership providing reciprocal benefits to Starwood Preferred Guests and Emirates Skywards members. The programme, Your World Rewards, begins on November 19th and allows SPG and Skywards elite members who register for the programme, to elevate their earnings and benefits when they fly with Emirates or stay with SPG Participating Hotels.
Emirates Group overcomes challenging market to boost profits
The Emirates Group has announced its half-yearly results which show steady performance and growth, despite a challenging business environment marked by ongoing health pandemic concerns, regional conflicts, and weakening global markets. The Emirates Group revenues reached US$ 12.9 billion for the first six months of its 2014-15 fiscal year, up 12 per cent from US$ 11.5 billion during the same period last year.
Emirates marks successful launch of flights to Sialkot, Pakistan
Emirates has marked its first year of operations in Sialkot, Pakistan. Over the past 12 months, Sialkot has emerged as an important passenger and cargo destination for the airline in the region. Since the start of operations in 2013, Emirates has carried over 79,000 passengers representing nearly 80 per cent load factor on the route and moved more than 2,400 tonnes of cargo to and from Sialkot.
