Emirates launches second daily service to Seattle
Emirates has launched its second daily service from Dubai International Airport to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. The new service, EK227, which began on 7th July and is operated by a Boeing 777-200LR, will depart Dubai at 3:15 a.m. and arrives in Seattle at 6:55 a.m. The return flight, EK228, departs Seattle at 9:40 a.m. and arrives in Dubai at 10:55 a.m. the following day.
Emirates expands A380 service to Dusselforf, Germany
Emirates has expanded the network of destinations served by its highly-popular A380 aircraft with the launch of the first A380 service into Dusseldorf, Germany. The airline also celebrated its five year anniversary in Prague with a special one-off A380 service.
Dubai International sees steep increase in passengers
Passenger numbers at Dubai International continued their rapid ascent in May as the airport welcomed 6.2 million customers, up 23.2 per cent from the same period last year, according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. Passenger numbers rose 23.2 per cent to 6,267,640 compared to the 5,086,910 handled in May 2014 when the airport was reduced to one runway while a billion dollar refurbishment programme was conducted over an 80 day span.
Emirates offers detailed rebuttal to US airline accusations
Emirates has released a point-by-point, fact-based response to allegations of subsidy and unfair competition levelled by the “big three” US legacy carriers - Delta, United and American Airlines. The document was released following meetings where an Emirates delegation briefed officials from the US Departments of state, transportation, and commerce on the airline’s response.

Emirates has launched 30 wireless charging trays for most smartphones in its First Class and Business Class Lounges in Concourse A, B and C in Dubai. With free Wi-Fi in all Emirates Lounges globally, and on nearly 120 aircraft, customers can also stay connected throughout their journey.
Emirates reveals flights to Multan, Pakistan
Emirates has announced its plans to launch services to Multan, Pakistan, beginning August 1st this year. Service to Multan, Pakistan’s fifth largest city by population, will commence with four weekly flights operated by a Boeing 777-300 in a two-class configuration - 54 seats in Business Class and 310 in Economy Class. The aircraft can carry up to 23 tonnes of cargo, opening up many more trade opportunities in the region.

Flybe signs Emirates as codeshare partner as recovery stutters
Emirates has signed a codeshare agreement with Exeter-based Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline. The news comes as Flybe reports a £35.6 million pre-tax loss for financial 2014, having seen a profit of £8.1 million a year earlier. The losses were largely down to a one-off charge linked to its exit from a joint venture in Finland.
Emirates adds flights to Bali
Emirates has commenced a daily nonstop service to the island of Bali in Indonesia. The new service between Dubai and Bali is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a two-class configuration.
Emirates adds daily service to Orlando from September
Emirates will commence a daily service to Orlando, Florida from September 1st. The route will be served by a US-built Boeing 777-200LR with eight First Class suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat beds and 216 Economy Class seats. Emirates customers can also connect seamlessly onto many destinations in the US, the Caribbean and South America through the airline’s codeshare partner JetBlue’s regional hub in Orlando, which serves 24 cities including San Juan in Puerto Rico; Bogota, Colombia and Nassau, The Bahamas.
Emirates set to fly into Bologna, Italy, from November
Emirates will launch a daily service to Bologna, Italy, from its base in Dubai on November 3rd, 2015. The capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, Bologna will be Emirates’ fourth Italian destination bringing Emirates’ weekly flights to Italy to 56. Set to be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER in a three class configuration, Emirates will offer the only long-haul wide-bodied service to and from Bologna.
