Breaking Travel News investigates: Emirates Airbus A380 repainted in 15 days
The Emirates Aircraft Appearance Centre, the world’s largest aircraft painting facility owned by an airline, has completely stripped and repainted 33 aircraft last year, or 13 per cent of the Emirates fleet, reports Phil Blizzard in Dubai. During the year, Emirates gave a fresh coat of paint to three Airbus A380s and 22 Boeing 777s, in addition to eight aircraft that were retired as a part of the airline’s strategy to operate a young, modern, and efficient aircraft fleet.
Emirates to bring A380 to Dubai-Auckland route for first time
Emirates is to operate its daily non-stop services between Dubai and Auckland with an A380 aircraft, less than a year after operating the flights with a Boeing 777-200LR. Emirates’ flagship double-decker A380s will operate on the route, currently the world’s longest, from October 30th.

Emirates to launch direct Dubai-Melbourne flights in October
Passengers travelling to Melbourne, Australia will now have another direct flight option with Emirates announcing that flights EK408 and EK409 will begin operating as non-stop services from Dubai from October 30th, 2016. Operated by an Emirates B777-300ER aircraft, EK408 will depart Dubai at 03:00 and arrive in Melbourne at 23:20.

The special boxes have been re-designed and are available across all cabin classes on select flights. These include those to and from the Gulf region as well as Umrah groups travelling to Jeddah and Medina.
Emirates renews full service agreement with Amadeus
Emirates and Amadeus have announced the renewal of their distribution agreement to ensure that the airline’s full inventory of fares and flights is made available to Amadeus-connected travel agencies and travellers worldwide. The agreement means that Emirates content is made available to the world’s largest network of travel sellers, and Emirates’ customers can continue to search and shop for all Emirates products and services through the channel of their choosing.
Emirates adds third daily Cape Town service
Emirates will introduce a third daily service between Dubai and Cape Town from July 4th. The new service will supplement the two current daily flights between the two cities to meet growing demand on the route, and offer outbound and inbound travellers even more convenience and choice.
Emirates launches seventh daily service to Bangkok
Emirates has announced its seventh daily service between Dubai and Bangkok starting from July 1st. The additional service, which will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, will help meet growing passenger demand, affirming Thailand’s position as a popular destination for business and leisure. It will make Bangkok one of the most served destinations on the Emirates network, on par with Kuwait and Doha.

Emirates launches A380 operations to Taipei and Prague
Emirates expanded their network of destinations served by its flagship A380 aircraft with the launch of new scheduled service to Taipei and Prague, reports Phil Blizzard in Dubai. In doing so Emirates are the first and only airline to operate an A380 into these two cities, making the total number of destinations served by Emirates’ iconic A380 to more than 40.
Emirates continues to show support for A380 with new order
Emirates has announced it has placed an order with manufacturer Airbus for an additional two new A380 aircraft, to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017. Emirates already operates the world’s largest fleet of Airbus A380s, with 75 in service and a further 65 on firm order.
