Dubai Airports to invest US$1.2bn in terminal expansion
Dubai Airports has confirmed that its US$ 1.2 billion investment in new and upgraded facilities for the over 110 international airlines that operate from Dubai International’s Terminals 1 and 2 will deliver a significantly enhanced customer experience when construction and testing is completed. Concourse D, when it opens later this year, will become the new US$517 million home to nearly 100 airlines that currently occupy Concourse C.
Dubai Airports launches new car rental platform
Dubai Airports has teamed up with rentalcars.com to provide passengers with an easy and cost effective way to rent a car directly from the Dubai Airports website. The new multi-lingual service – available in English and Arabic – allows customers to browse and select rental options in more than 160 countries and 28,000 locations. The page also provides a list of car rental companies available at Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central, with a link to a map of the two airports.
Dubai Airports unveils mobile app for passengers
Dubai Airports has introduced a new mobile app that puts all the information passengers need to easily navigate one of the world’s leading international airports at their fingertips, guiding them from check-in to boarding. The app incorporates information from both Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central and is available in English and Arabic.
Dubai airport passenger traffic slips 2.9%
Passenger traffic through Dubai’s main airport dropped 2.9 percent from the previous year to 5.16 million people in July, as construction work temporarily reduced its capacity, operator Dubai Airports has revealed.
Dubai International returns to full operations following partial closure
Dubai Airports successfully resumed full operations at Dubai International earlier following the reopening of the northern runway. At the same time flights that had temporarily moved to Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central while the runway upgrades were underway have now returned to Dubai International.
Dubai Airports unveils dining portfolio for Concourse D
Dubai Airports has revealed an exciting line-up of restaurants and coffee shops for Concourse D, the new home of more than 100 airlines that fly to Dubai International, elevating the airport’s dining experience to a new level. Construction of Concourse D is well underway with the facility’s opening slated for the first quarter of 2015.

Dubai Airports set to launch runway upgrade
Dubai Airports has confirmed that all systems are go for a comprehensive runway upgrade project set to be launched at Dubai International on May 1st, 2014 to boost safety, service and capacity levels. The upgrade work will last 80 days during which the runways will be closed alternatively – the southern runway from May 1st to May 31st, and the northern runway from May 31st to July 20th, 2014.
