Britons killed in Egyptian balloon crash
As many as 19 tourists have been killed in a hot air balloon crash near the southern Egyptian city of Luxor. British, French and Japanese nationals are all believed to have been killed in the incident, with two survivors rescued.

British tourist shot in Thailand
A British tourist has been killed in Thailand, according to the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office. Named as Stephen Ashton, the holidaymaker was reportedly caught by a stray bullet during a fight between two groups at a bar on Koh Phangan during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Continental Airlines has been cleared of involvement in the crash of an Air France Concorde in July 2000 by a French court of appeals. The American carrier had been held criminally responsible for the crash after a piece of metal from one of its aircraft was blamed for causing the disaster.

Two passengers vessels have collides off Hong Kong, killing at least 36 people local officials have confirmed. One boat, which was carrying over 120 passengers to a firework display, half-sank in the collision near Lamma Island.
