Cathay Pacific Airways is launching a new four-times-weekly non-stop service from Hong Kong to Boston, Massachusetts, on 2 May 2015, subject to government approval. The new service will provide the first direct link between New England and Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific Airways has joined with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to create a unique inflight menu featuring contemporary fine-dining with a classical twist. Cathay Pacific Group has announced positive financial results through the first half of 2013, with revenues and profits rising despite a challenging operating environment. Passenger revenue at the group increased by 4.4 per cent to HK$36,520 million in the first six months of the year, compared to the same period in 2013.

Cathay Pacific Airways has announced it will launch a four-times-weekly service between Manchester and Hong Kong with effect from December 8th 2014. Tickets for the service are now open for sale. Manchester Airport is the UK’s third biggest airport, the international gateway to the North of England, with over 20.8 million passengers per year, serving 200 plus destinations.
Cathay Pacific boosts profits in challenging environment
Cathay Pacific Group has announced an attributable profit of HK$2,620 million for 2013, compared to a profit of HK$862 million in the previous year. Turnover for the year increased by 1.1 per cent to HK$100,484 million. The improvement in the Group’s performance in 2013 was largely due to the strengthening of its passenger business and the positive impact of measures introduced in 2012 to protect the business from the high price of jet fuel.
Cathay Pacific launches Hong Kong-Doha deal with Qatar Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways and Qatar Airways, members of the oneworld alliance, have announced a strategic agreement on services operated by both airlines between Hong Kong and Doha, effective March 30th 2014. The agreement between the two airlines is expected to generate a wide range of benefits for customers. Under the new agreement, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways will each operate one flight between Hong Kong and Qatar daily, offering premium products and services to passengers travelling to and from the two cities.
Cathay Pacific expands presence in Latin America
Cathay Pacific Airways has announced it will expand its freighter services into Latin America by launching a thrice-weekly scheduled service to Mexico City on March 1st 2014, subject to government approval. At the same time, the airline will also increase the frequency of its service to Guadalajara from two to three freighter flights per week.
Cathay Pacific expands Boeing order for long-haul aircraft
Boeing and Cathay Pacific Airways announced that Cathay Pacific has ordered an additional 747-8 Freighter and three 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The order, valued at about $1 billion at current list prices, will bolster Cathay Pacific’s 747-8 Freighter fleet and 777-300ER fleet to 14 and 53, respectively.
Boeing delivers first improved 747-8 to Cathay Pacific
Boeing has delivered the first 747-8 with performance-improved GEnx-2B engines as part of the airplane’s Performance Improvement Package. A Cathay Pacific Airways 747-8 Freighter was the first 747 to deliver with the PIP engines.
Cathay Pacific signs on for Boeing 777-9X order
Boeing and Cathay Pacific today announced the airline’s decision to become Asia’s first 777X customer with an order for 21 777-9X airplanes, as part of Cathay’s future long-haul fleet strategy. The order is valued at more than $7 billion at current list prices.
