Cathay Pacific expands presence in Latin America
Cathay Pacific Airways has announced it will expand its freighter services into Latin America by launching a thrice-weekly scheduled service to Mexico City on March 1st 2014, subject to government approval. At the same time, the airline will also increase the frequency of its service to Guadalajara from two to three freighter flights per week.
Cathay Pacific expands Boeing order for long-haul aircraft
Boeing and Cathay Pacific Airways announced that Cathay Pacific has ordered an additional 747-8 Freighter and three 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The order, valued at about $1 billion at current list prices, will bolster Cathay Pacific’s 747-8 Freighter fleet and 777-300ER fleet to 14 and 53, respectively.

Boeing and Cathay Pacific today announced the airline’s decision to become Asia’s first 777X customer with an order for 21 777-9X airplanes, as part of Cathay’s future long-haul fleet strategy. The order is valued at more than $7 billion at current list prices.
Cathay Pacific moves freight operations to Dubai Al Maktoum
Cathay Pacific announced earlier will move its freighter operations from Dubai International to Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central from February 2014. Dubai is Cathay Pacific’s transit hub for its European destinations including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Manchester, Paris and Milan.

Cathay Pacific Airways is making its Premium Economy Class seats available to passengers on 22 regional routes from 27 October 2013. The seats will go on sale from 2 October.
Change at the top for Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific Airways has revealed its current chief executive, John Slosar, will succeed Christopher Pratt as chairman of the airline in March 2014. Slosar will also take over as chairman of John Swire & Sons and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering.
Cathay Pacific returns to black despite fuel costs
Cathay Pacific Group has reported a profit of HK$24 million for the first six months of 2013, compared with a restated loss of HK$929 million in the same period of 2012. Earnings per share were HK0.6 cents compared to a restated loss per share of HK23.6 cents in the first half of 2012.

Cathay Pacific has unveiled a new inflight menu featuring dishes inspired by T’ang Court, the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant at The Langham, Hong Kong. The new menu is available to passengers in First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy Class onboard flights.
