British Airways pilot Bonhomme prepares to defend Red Bull Air Race title
Red Bull Air Race pilot and British Airways 747 Captain Paul Bonhomme will fly the flag for Britain when he defends his 2014 UK win at Ascot Racecourse on August 15th and 16th, 2015. Captain Bonhomme is the most successful pilot in the history of the Red Bull Air Race and is a double World Champion.
British Airways adds Costa Rica to long-haul schedule
Starting on May 4th next year, British Airways will offer nonstop flights between Gatwick and the Costa Rican capital of San Jose. Customers will initially be able to fly twice a week during the summer, rising to three a week in the winter, in comfort and style to San Jose’s Santamaría International Airport direct from Gatwick, on British Airways’ Boeing 777 fleet.
British Airways launches new flights to Valencia, Spain
Culture vultures can visit Valencia when British Airways starts flights to Spain’s third biggest city later this year. The direct route from Gatwick begins on November 6th, with four flights a week, which rises to six a week for the summer 2016 season. Famous for its numerous festivals, fine historic buildings, striking futuristic architecture and great museums, Valencia has a thriving nightlife with brilliant beaches making it one of Spain’s must-see destinations.
British Airways brings British wines to the skies
British Airways is serving up the best of British this summer in the form of a Bolney Estate Pinot Gris 2014 from the West Sussex located winery, plus tonic water from UK-based company, Fever-Tree. The airline will be serving the wine, which was a favourite tipple at Wimbledon this year, to its customers in the First cabin flying to and from the USA throughout August.
British Airways to launch 787-9 Dreamliner on Delhi route in October
British Airways’ new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with a new First class cabin, will start flying to Delhi from October 25th. The 787-9, the first of which is due to arrive with British Airways in September, is 20ft longer that its 787-8 predecessor, so as well as offering World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World, there’s also room for a new First class cabin – a first for the airline’s 787 fleet.

British Airways is opening up some of its flight information to IT developers in a trial to find innovative new ways for people to search for and buy British Airways flights. Application Programming Interfaces are sets of XML code that can be used to access services from a third party for inclusion in mobile apps or websites.
British Airways consolidates at Heathrow as Terminal 1 closes doors
British Airways has said farewell to Terminal 1 at London Heathrow Airport, consolidating its flights into two terminals from today. Heathrow Airport closed the doors on Terminal 1 yesterday for the last time after almost 47 years of service. The last flight to depart Terminal 1 was the BA970 to Hanover at 21:15, while the last arrival was the BA144 from Baku at 22:40.

A new video from British Airways gives its customers a pilot’s eye view of landing into one of its newest destinations - Funchal, on the island of Madeira. British Airways re-launches On Business scheme
British Airways is to help businesses reach new heights with the re-launch of its On Business scheme, aimed at small and medium enterprises. Last year alone the On Business scheme saved firms £34 million on travelling to do business face-to-face, and the re-vamped programme will now enable travellers to choose between an immediate discount of at least five per cent off selected flights, or On Business points that can be used towards future trips and upgrades.

British Airways, one of the world’s leading global premium airlines, has been confirmed as the first company to join the partnership.
British Airways prepares for summer sun bank holiday getaway
British Airways is expecting a staggering 626,735 people to fly with the airline over the coming May Bank Holiday weekend, in a bid to bask in the sun now that summer is on its way. UK holiday makers look set to make the most of the five days from tomorrow to May 25th to get some much-needed sun. The busiest days are expected to be Thursday, May 21st, with 134,337 customers flying with the airline and on Monday, May 25th when 135,523 people will take to the skies.
