British Airways welcomes Google Street View to New York-London flight
Google users can now take a virtual trip on British Airways’ ultra-exclusive business class-only service, with just the click of a mouse. The airline has teamed up with London City Airport, home to British Airways’ double-daily service to New York, to create the first airport airside tour on Google Street View.
Magna Carta flown first class to New York by British Airways
British Airways has flown Britain’s most celebrated charter - the Magna Carta - across the Atlantic. To celebrate 800 years since the famous document was sealed, Hereford Cathedral and the Great Britain Campaign are taking one of only 24 original versions on an anniversary world tour. The tour is an opportunity for thousands of people to see a globally recognised symbol of democracy.
British Airways moves closer to partner Vueling
British Airways and Vueling continue to forge closer ties as the Barcelona-based Spanish airline adds its flight code to more than 30 BA flights to Spain and Italy starting this autumn. This significant move for the two International Airlines Group airlines means that Vueling’s customers can book BA flights on routes to and from Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
British Airways to launch 787-9 Dreamliner flights to Muscat
British Airways’ new 787-9 Dreamliner will start flying to Abu Dhabi and Muscat from November 5th, 2015. The announcement comes on the back of the airline confirming last month that the first route to benefit from the new aircraft will be Delhi from October 25th.
British Airways flight bursts into flames in Las Vegas
A British Airways Boeing 777-200 has caught fire on the ground at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Some 172 people were evacuated from the flight through emergency slides, with 13 taken to the nearby Sunrise hospital with minor injuries.
British Airways launches Sao Paulo codeshare with TAM Airlines
British Airways and oneworld partner, TAM Airlines, a LATAM Airlines Group company, will forge closer ties from October this year when they begin a codeshare agreement on flights to Sao Paulo and beyond. In the new arrangement British Airways customers will be able to book seats on TAM’s Heathrow to Sao Paulo service via ba.com and other sales channels, when the BA flight code is added to TAM’s daily flight.
Penhaligon takes to the skies with British Airways
London perfumer Penhaligon’s will be filling the air with fragrance, as it takes to the skies with British Airways on the airline’s most exclusive jet to New York for a month. British Airways customers flying on the luxury 32-seat jet between London City and New York will receive a complimentary full size bottle of Penhaligon’s unisex perfume in a gift bag, and the cabin crew will also be serving a signature cocktail created by the Cocktail Trading Company, inspired by the indulgent ingredients captured in Penhaligon’s bottles.
British Airways flies into Silicon Valley, San José
Sun-drenched Silicon Valley is to get a direct service to Heathrow when British Airways starts offering non-stop flights to San José in summer 2016. San José is the world’s software power-house and home to household hi-tech giants such as Adobe, Apple, Cisco, eBay, Google and Intel, as well as thousands of tech start-up companies and world-famous Stanford University in nearby Palo Alto.
LATA welcomes increased airlift to Latin America
The Latin American Travel Association, the travel trade association that promotes travel to the many diverse and exotic destinations of Latin America, has welcomed the news that LATA member British Airways is to introduce new direct flights from London Gatwick to Peru and from Gatwick to Costa Rica. Both services will commence on May 4th 2016.
British Airways connects Glasgow with Salzburg for first time
Scots seeking somewhere to slope off for a skiing holiday or to enjoy the sound of music will hit the right note when British Airways launches a new direct winter service to Salzburg from Glasgow. Tickets for the weekly service linking Scotland with Austria with the first flight taking off in the winter season on December 12th, 2015.

British Airways’ newest route from London Gatwick means guests will be able to leave it all behind for Lima and enjoy an adventurous break in amazing Peru. From summer 2016 all the airline’s customers will be able to fly in style to the capital city of Lima, putting the South American country firmly back on the route map.
Gatwick welcomes British Airways flights to Porto
Gatwick is set to raise a glass to celebrate the start of British Airways’ new direct service to the Portuguese city of Porto. The city, famous for its fortified wine and UNESCO-protected city centre, will welcome the four times a week service from Gatwick starting February next year.
