BTMI Barbados Surf Pro and Live Like Zander Junior Pro Wrap North American Season in Epic Finale
The World Surf League (WSL) North America Qualifying Series (QS) and Pro Junior contingent prepare for the BTMI Barbados Surf Pro and Live Like Zander Junior Pro In Loving Memory of Zander Venezia Presented by Diamonds International, a men’s and women’s QS 6,000 and Pro Junior, beginning February 23 through March 1. This marks the culmination of 2026 Challenger Series qualification and a crucial second stop for World Junior Championship qualification at the iconic reef break of Soup Bowl, located on Barbados’ East Coast.

Barbados Introduces Car Rental Levy to Support Environmental Initiatives
Effective October 15th 2025, Barbados will be introducing a new Car Rental Levy to support the efforts of the Barbados Ocean and Coastal Authority and the Barbados Nature Conservancy Trust. This levy, which will be applied at a rate of BDS $5 per day, up to a maximum of 7 days, will enable the preservation and protection of the island’s coastlines, gullies, parks, and marine ecosystems and replace the driver’s permit fee. The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) is appealing to visitors to support this initiative for the benefit of the island’s long-term, environmental and sustainability efforts and, thanks its tourism partners for their support in preserving Barbados’ natural resources.
CTO says Caribbean Week in NYC ‘set to sparkle’
The Barbados-based Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) said on Friday that the much-awaited Caribbean Week is “set to sparkle” in New York City from June 16-21. CTO said this event, a highlight on the calendar for travel industry professionals and enthusiasts alike, will be held at the InterContinental New York Times Square in the bustling heart of midtown Manhattan.
