Avis UK has today announced it is now preferred car rental partner to Advantage Business Travel, following the three year renewal of its longstanding partnership.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has official announced it has taken itself off the market after failing to attract what it viewed as suitable takeover proposals. As a result, the company will continue to act as a standalone brand – at least for now.

Avis Budget Group has completed its acquisition of Avis Europe in a $1 billion deal. The combined company is now one of the largest vehicle rental companies in the world, with branded rental locations in approximately 175 countries.

Leading car hire firm Avis Rent a Car has announced it has been recognised for its market leading service after scooping three accolades at the recent World Travel Awards, hosted in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. The brand was named Africa’s Leading Business Car Rental Company, Indian Ocean’s Leading Car Rental Company and Egypt’s Leading Car Rental Company.

Car hire firm Avis Rent a Car, has confirmed it has doubled its number of rental locations across the UK in just nine months, bringing its total branch number in excess of 220. The expansion comes as part of Avis’ drive to increase its retail branch network, opening up access to convenient car hire for more customers in downtown locations.
