Infrabel awards Alstom a framework contract on the Belgian rail
Belgian rail operator, Infrabel, and Alstom have just signed a framework contract aimed at continuing the deployment of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS 1) in Belgium.
Alstom supplies advanced traction system Optonix to Qingdao Metro Line 3
Alstom and its local joint venture, Shanghai Alstom Transport Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. (SATEE), have been awarded a contract worth around €26 million by Qingdao Metro Co., Ltd to supply the state-of-the-art traction system to Qingdao Metro Line 3.
Alstom to modernize the “Sillon Alpin Sud” line
Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) has awarded a contract valued at nearly €80 million to a consortium made up of Alstom Transport, Colas Rail, Setec Ferroviaire, Spie Batignolles TPCI and Nouvetra for the purpose of modernizing the “Sillon Alpin Sud” (Alpine Arc South) line.
Nottingham City tram extension contract awarded to Tramlink consortium
Nottingham consortium to construct and operate two new tram lines, expanding the existing network by 17.5 km. The consortium includes Alstom, VINCI Investments (a UK subsidiary of VINCI PLC), Keolis and Wellglade (owners of local bus operator Trent Barton) and Meridiam and OFI Infravia as financial investors.
Euroduplex inaugurates the Rhine-Rhône LGV high-speed rail line
Euroduplex – the third generation of TGV Duplex – went into service on 11 December 2011 when the SNCF inaugurated the Rhine-Rhone LGV high-speed rail line. Euroduplex is the only double-decker, interoperable high-speed train capable of running on European networks while transporting up to 1,020 passengers (multiple units) at speeds of 320 km/h in total safety.

Alstom unveils the Amsterdam metro
Leon Linders, President of Alstom Netherlands, unveiled the first trainset of the Amsterdam metro at Alstom’s site in Valenciennes (Nord), where it was designed and manufactured. Representatives of the city of Amsterdam and the Dutch operator GVB were on hand for the event.
Alstom and Belgrade sign agreement to equip Serb capital with new rail transport system
Dragan Djilas, Mayor of the city of Belgrade, and Gian-Luca Erbacci, Alstom Transport South Europe Vice President, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Serbia, and Pierre Lellouche, French foreign trade Secretary of State, concerning the construction of a new public rail transport system.
Alstom to supply its Atlas ERTMS signalling solutions in Turkey
TCDD (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryolları), the national Turkish railway operator, has selected Alstom to supply signalling and telecommunications systems on the line connecting Eskişehir, about 260 km East of Ankara, to Balıkesir near the Aegean coast.
Alstom to supply line 2 of Los Teques metro in Venezuela
Consorcio Linea 2 has awarded a contract globally worth €530 million to the Alstom-led consortium “Grupo de Empresas” to build the second line of Los Teques metro in Miranda State, Venezuela. The line, 12 km long and served by 6 stations, will enter service in October 2015.
Alstom to supply additional 20 Coradia Nordic regional trains to Skånetrafiken
Skånetrafiken, the Swedish operator, signed a new contract with Alstom to supply 20 Coradia Nordic regional trains for a total of over 100 million euros. The delivery is scheduled for 2013-2014. The new trains will serve the lines in the Skåne region, in the south of Sweden.
