Wizz Air, the fastest growing European airline, has marked International Women’s Day 2026 by operating a series of all-female flights across multiple markets. Seventy female pilots and cabin crew operated flights on 8 March across the network as part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to gender diversity and equal opportunities in aviation. This year’s edition marks the fifth all-female flight carried out by Wizz Air since the initiative was introduced in 2022 as part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to promoting gender diversity and equal opportunities in aviation.
Abra Group to Incorporate Seven Airbus A330-900 Aircraft into its Fleet
Abra Group announced today that it will progressively incorporate seven Airbus A330-900 wide-body aircraft into its fleet during 2026 and 2027. Brazilian Airline GOL announces direct Rio-New York route, expanding International operations
In a landmark move for Brazilian aviation, GOL Linhas Aéreas has officially announced the launch of its first-ever long-haul route, signaling a robust new phase in the airline’s international expansion strategy. Starting on July 8, 2026, the carrier will begin operating direct, non-stop flights connecting RIOgaleão – Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City. Qatar Airways to Operate Limited Relief Corridor from Doha
Qatar Airways scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace. Qatar Airways will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe full reopening of Qatari airspace by the relevant authorities. A further update will be provided on 8 March by 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC). Following temporary authorisation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirming a safe operating corridor, Qatar Airways intends to operate repatriation flights on 07 March, departing from Hamad International Airport to the following airports: London (LHR), Paris (CDG), Madrid (MAD), Rome (FCO) and Frankfurt (FRA).
