Wizz Air, the fastest growing European airline, has marked International Women’s Day 2026 by operating a series of all-female flights across multiple markets. Seventy female pilots and cabin crew operated flights on 8 March across the network as part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to gender diversity and equal opportunities in aviation. This year’s edition marks the fifth all-female flight carried out by Wizz Air since the initiative was introduced in 2022 as part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to promoting gender diversity and equal opportunities in aviation.

In a landmark move for Brazilian aviation, GOL Linhas Aéreas has officially announced the launch of its first-ever long-haul route, signaling a robust new phase in the airline’s international expansion strategy. Starting on July 8, 2026, the carrier will begin operating direct, non-stop flights connecting RIOgaleão – Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City. This highly anticipated service will feature three weekly frequencies and was developed through a strategic partnership with the Rio de Janeiro City Hall.

Etihad Airways will resume a limited commercial flight schedule from 6 March 2026, operating between Abu Dhabi and a number of key destinations. Guests with previous bookings will be accommodated on these flights as soon as possible. Tickets are also available for sale on etihad.com.

Wizz Air UK proudly announces that it has officially received the necessary permits to operate flights between the United Kingdom and the United States. As communicated earlier, the airline has no intention or plans to launch regular commercial flights to the US, the new authorization represents a significant achievement and reflects months of preparation, regulatory coordination, and operational planning.

United expects more than 27 million customers over spring break (between March 6 – April 27) – this will be the most passengers the airline has ever flown over spring break. United expects about 520,000 passengers per day on average, and plans to operate about 4,900 daily flights. United is ready – through the first two months of the year, United has had the most on-time departures of any U.S. airline; the airline also finished the month of February with the most on-time departures of any U.S. airline.

We remain unable to operate flights from Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv. The UK Government advice has now been updated to note that: “commercial options are available to depart the region, and if your presence in the UAE is not essential, you may wish to consider departing, if you judge you can access these options safely”.
