SAS has been named both the world’s and Europe’s most punctual airline in Cirium’s April 2026 On‑Time Performance report. With an on‑time arrival rate of 89.53 percent, SAS secured the top position across both rankings — a rare double achievement during a month marked by significant operational challenges across the industry.

Norwegian Group had 2.35 million passengers in April
In April, the Norwegian Group had a total of 2.35 million passengers. Of these, Norwegian recorded 2.02 million passengers, while Widerøe had 336,000. The month was marked by particularly high punctuality for both airlines, and Norwegian’s punctuality of 90.6 percent was the strongest in any single month since 2023.
Qatar Airways Set to Operate to Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia, from July 2026
Qatar Airways has affirmed its expansion in the Americas with the launch of new flight operations to Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia, commencing from 22 July 2026. The service represents a significant milestone for the airline, as Qatar Airways becomes the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and the first airline to operate flights from the Middle East to Caracas and Bogotá. This expansion underscores the airline’s commitment, announced last year, to strengthening global connectivity for the region.
United Airlines Launches Nonstop Daily Seasonal Service Between Glasgow and Newark/New York
United Airlines has launched its nonstop daily seasonal service between Glasgow and its hub at Newark/New York, celebrating the arrival of the inaugural flight into Glasgow Airport. United is the only U.S. airline offering a nonstop service between Glasgow and the United States. The route marks United’s return to Glasgow which the airline served previously up until October 2019 and is the first scheduled service by a U.S. airline between Glasgow and the United States since 2019.
Emirates and dnata repurpose and donate more than 400 strollers to local non-profit organisations
In the spirit of collaboration and care for the community, Emirates Airport Services, Emirates Engineering, dnata4good and several local non-profit organisations have come together to deliver 430 baby strollers to children in need. In a spirited community effort, the Emirates Airport Services team transported the spare airport strollers to the Emirates Engineering Facility and team who upcycled them. Then dnata’s employee-driven initiative - dnata4good, stepped in to identify several local entities to deliver them to, including Hope Amel UAE, Senses and Al Noor. Each organisation expressed their gratitude and shared a different plan for using the strollers, from donating to single mothers in need, to using for emergency transportation for students, to usage on school trips and outings.
