British Airways to bring A380 services to Miami in 2015
There will be ‘More seats to South Beach’ as British Airways adds Miami to its Airbus A380 network next October with two daily flights to the Florida sunshine on board the superjumbo. The new A380 route to Miami is part of British Airways’ plans to enhance the usage of facilities in Terminal 3 and Terminal 5 by combining its operations in two terminals and moving out of Terminal 1.
Air France flies A380 into Africa with Abidjan route
Air France is now offering three weekly services to Abidjan using the A380, the largest superjumbo in its fleet, with an additional four weekly frequencies to Abidjan operated by Boeing 777-300 aircraft. Air France revealed its ambition to make Abidjan the first destination in French-speaking Africa to be served with regular A380 flights with a special Air France flight on January 28th earlier this year, which also reflected the company’s wish to support the country’s development towards becoming the main hub for and gateway to Western Africa.
Qatar Airways reveals Bangkok as next A380 destination
Qatar Airways’ A380 aircraft will soon touchdown in Bangkok, Thailand, following the launch of its inaugural service to London Heathrow introduced earlier this month. The airline is scheduled to commence A380 service between Doha and Paris Charles De Gaulle, followed by an additional London service by the end of the year.
Qatar Airways launches A380 on London-Doha route
Qatar Airways’ first A380 has commenced services on the popular Doha-London route marking another major milestone for the airline. The arrival of the world’s largest commercial airliner on the Doha-to-London service reinforces Qatar Airways’ presence in the United Kingdom, with six flights a day between the two cities in addition to direct services from Doha to Edinburgh and Manchester.
British Airways brings A380 to Washington DC
First and Club World customers heading to Heathrow on British Airways’ inaugural A380 from Washington today will have had the added bonus of enjoying the airline’s newly re-launched lounge at the US Capital’s airport. The upgraded lounge can now host 200 customers, thanks to 10,000 square feet of space. It features intimate bar areas, business facilities, fine dining, shower suites and a private VIP area.
